Halloween Block Party for Pediatric Patients

Cabrini Pediatric Therapy Center’s staff and therapists along with the help of Sam’s Club #8181 and the LSUA General’s Basketball team, showered 60 local pediatric patients at CHRISTUS Cabrini Hospital and their families with a spooky night of games, trick or treating and dancing.

Many of the children who attended would not otherwise be able to celebrate Halloween in the same traditional setting as their peers.  Some have permanent injuries from accidents, others have had disease and illness strike their lives and others were born with life altering conditions.  Many of these children struggle daily to complete the basic skills necessary to lead a regular life while their families are lovingly working around the clock caring for their needs.

Kids like Alec and his mom Amanda enjoyed the opportunity to get creative for the evening while enjoying games and trick or treating in a familiar safe environment.

Coach Cordaro, with the LSUA General’s Basketball team, and four of his freshman players, selflessly interacted with the pediatric patients and oversaw various games supplied by the creative Cabrini Pediatric Therapy Center staff.

To boot, Sam’s Club #8181 in Alexandria, provided the scariest cake around and supplemental candy.  Sam’s Club is a national Children’s Miracle Network partner and historically has shown enormous support for the kids in CMN Hospitals like CHRISTUS Cabrini.
