Local Walmart and Sam’s Club stores raise more than $250,000 for Children’s Hospital & Medical Center!

Local Walmart and Sam’s Club stores throughout Nebraska, Western Iowa and Northern Kansas once again joined forces to raise money for Children’s during the 2021 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals campaign. Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers, and members raised $255,702 for Children’s during their summer fundraising campaign.

Funds raised will support an expanded emergency department in our Hubbard Center for Children and help fund transport services.

Thanks to the generous support of Walmart and Sam’s Club, Children’s is also honored to be selected as a recipient of Walmart Giving grants. The following stores have contributed:

  • Gretna Walmart – $2,500 grant.
  • Blair Walmart – $3,000 grant.

Grant funding will support Children’s Carolyn Scott Rainbow House which helps families from outside the Omaha metro area who travel more than 60 miles to access Children’s care. This funding ensures Children’s hospitality house is able to continue to provide room, board and meals for children like Harley and her family while their daughter received emergency care at Children’s. Funds will also support Children’s new Rainbow Suites located within the Hubbard Center for Children, an extension of our Rainbow House, with 10 new Rainbow Rooms for use by parents of critically ill children. These rooms provide a place of rest and respite while allowing parents to be as near as possible to their child.
