Local Walmart stores raise money for Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital
Local Walmart stores are once again joining forces to raise money for Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital during the annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals campaign. From June 22 through July 19 customers can conveniently donate $1 or more when they check out.
Walmart associates, customers, and members have raised nearly $2,576,000 for Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital since 1993!
In 2019, we had 18 local Walmart stores raise $181,015 for Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital alone, and in 2018, Walmart and Sam’s Club passed the $1 billion fundraising mark for CMN Hospitals in the U.S. and Canada, the largest amount raised for a nonprofit.
Money raised at Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho Walmart stores goes directly to benefit the sick and injured kids treated at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital. Funds are used to pay for equipment, research, supplies, charitable care, and a variety of other needs our hospital has. Walmart and Sam’s Club joined the CMN Hospitals fundraising family in 1987 with Sam Walton himself being personally involved in the beginning of the relationship between the organizations. The fundraising campaigns supports Walmart’s goal of giving back to local communities. Customers can help spread the word about the campaign via social media using the hashtag #HelpKidsLiveBeter.
