2024 CMN Hope, Care and Cure Awards

Every year at Seattle Children’s Community Day Celebration we recognize 3 of our amazing Children’s Miracle Network partners for going above and beyond to raise funds and awareness. Here are the 2024 award winners!

Care Award: Dairy Queen

International Dairy Queen (IDQ) is a leading quick service restaurant company with more than 7,000 DQ restaurants in the US, Canada, and more than 20 other countries. A 41-year partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, since 1984, IDQ, through its charitable giving program DQ Cares, and DQ franchises have raised more and donated more than $185 million for children’s hospitals across North America.

Each year, Dairy Queen supports Seattle Children’s through their annual Miracle Treat Day, where a portion of Blizzard Treat sales directly benefits our hospital. DQ also encourages guests to donate or round up their purchases, demonstrating the power of small contributions that add up to make a huge impact, raising over 2.05 million since the partnership began.

Beyond fundraising, Dairy Queen brings heartfelt moments of happiness to our patients and staff through the annual Blizzard Day at the hospital, delivering sweet treats and smiles to those facing medical challenges. Their dedication goes far beyond financial support – they are a true community partners, continuously finding ways to support the children and families who rely on Seattle Children’s for life-saving care.

Hope Award: Marriott

Marriott International has been a proud partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals for over 40 years. In that time, they have raised almost $150 for hospitals across North America. Marriott International is the largest hotel chain in the world operating over 30 brands and over 5,400 properties in the US.

Marriott’s impact is driven by their creative and heartfelt fundraising efforts, including their annual programs such as Root Beer Float, Breakfast and Burger Campaign, to their long-standing Charity Golf Tournament and their inspiring 5K Torch Relay. Since the partnership began, Marriott has raised over 1.7 million for Seattle Children’s. These annual events not only raise funds for Seattle Children’s but also untie communities, businesses, and individuals with a shared mission – to ensure every child receives hope, care, and cures, regardless of their family’s ability to pay.

Cure Award: Walmart

Walmart started their partnership with Children’s Miracle Network in 1987, and since then have raised more than $1 billion for hospitals in North America. For 38 years, Walmart has been committed in helping Seattle Children’s advance treatments and find cures for childhood illnesses.

Each year, Walmart raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for Seattle Children’s through their point-of-sale campaign, empowering customers to contribute to our uncompensated care fund with every purchase. Walmart has also provided essential funding through their community grants program, helping sponsor programs and events at the hospital. Raising over 5.6 million in total for Seattle Children’s. Walmart team members generously volunteer at hospital events and fundraisers. Their hands-on support demonstrates their deep commitment to making a real difference for our community.
