A High Five to Walmart and Sam's Club

Did you know that every time you donated your change and dollar bills at Walmart and Sam’s Club they added up to a whole lot of miracles? One billion dollars worth to be exact, and yes, that’s a B!

Walmart and Sam’s Club locations across the United States and Canada have been fundraising in support of their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 1987, and this year, and with the generous support of their customers and members, Walmart and Sam’s Club reached the $1 billion fundraising milestone – a first for a company supporting a single charity! It’s a remarkable and an inspiring achievement, and we’re so thankful for the support.

In northern Maine, associates have teamed up with their customers and members to raise more than $3 million. That’s a whole lot of Maine Miracles, plus the foundation for a new neonatal transport ambulance that we’ve come to know as Miracle One, and financial support for Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center’s capital campaigns to build the new neonatal intensive care unit that opened in 2016, and the new pediatric children’s cancer center, which opened its doors in 2013.
